Eyes and Lips

what if lips weren’t dams
and eyes weren’t weapons

my lips and my eyes
organs of blood and tears
and flesh

open yet firm
sensitive
alert
expressive
curled
a smile for me
a smile for you
and a kiss for you
waiting here for you
and a look
longing for you.

moistened eyes
taste the breeze
fragrantly humid
with you

I find my tongue
think of it brushing tips with yours
and still manage
to say the words
"Hello. You are looking good."
Upon my lips is a kiss for you,
but I manage to smile.
my eyes are open like an embrace
my heart races
and my lips inflate
still I manage
a soft,
gentle
smile
for you.
